The Program
Self-Tape Champions offers a unique blend of both industry feedback from an experienced manager and first-hand perspective from an actor who has done it. Over the course of five weeks, actors will develop their self-tape confidence as they grow your practical skillset.
Some of those skills will include (but are not limited to):
How to create a self-tape setup that is both simple and effective on any budget.
How to avoid common pitfalls that can make or break your audition.
Master simple editing methods to ensure there are no distractions from your work.
Understand how to approach complex scenes and props.
How to make quick and creative decisions that will help your tape rise above the crowd.
Class Structure
Every week students will receive sides for a self-tape audition that they will film before class. The sides tackle a specific genre of audition material actors regularly face. In class, Robbie and Bernard give industry insider tips and specific guidelines about how to improve each actor’s self-tape. By the end of the final class, students will feel confident in all of the technical elements involved with self-taping while also gaining much needed knowledge about the industry and the audition process.
